Radiographer/MRI Scanner

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain the 3T Prisma MRI scanner for daily scanning operations, primarily focusing on head MRI scans.

  • Provide technical support for MRI-related research activities in cognitive neuroscience and other areas.

  • Assist with administrative duties related to MRI facilities, including equipment booking and scheduling.

  • Conduct MRI scanning sessions, particularly in the absence of a dedicated radiographer.

  • Participate in research projects to a degree supported by the center, with optional involvement in task-programming and MRI data preprocessing.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Psychology, Medicine, Radiology, or a related field. A relevant background is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Prior experience with MRI scanning in a hospital or university setting is required.

  • Must be resident in Hong Kong. Commuting from Shenzhen is not advised.

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Cantonese is preferred.

  • Possession of a valid Hong Kong work visa is advantageous but not essential.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.

  • Training on MRI scanning will be provided by the university.

Terms of Appointment & Remuneration:

  • The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of 1 to 2 years.

  • Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance, mutual agreement, and availability of funding.

  • Monthly salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

  • A completion bonus of approximately 10% of the total contract salary will be provided upon successful fulfillment of the contract.

  • Remuneration is subject to Hong Kong's relatively low tax rates.

  • A bachelor’s degree, or preferably master’s degree, in sciences or other related disciplines (e.g., Psychology, Computer Science); 
  • Preferably 2 to 3 years’ experience in conducting collaborative research with researchers and able to work in collaborative with a multidisciplinary team;
  • Good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and
  • Experience in MRI or database/computing server management is preferable.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year.  Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
